From the moment you step into our building, you are met with an updated, open and comfortable setting. A.H. Peters Funeral Home offers a number of flexible spaces for both intimate and larger gatherings. Our formal chapel features pew seating for up to 250 guests and a stunning six-pane stained-glass window with a calming riverfront scene. The building also includes four visitation rooms, offering flexibility for you to completely customize and configure an area to best accommodate your needs.

Veterans & public servants programs

At A.H. Peters Funeral Home, we also specialize in serving the veteran community. It is our privilege to honor deceased veterans and their families in need of funeral services. This is part of the Dignity Memorial^® Homeless Veterans Burial Program, a cooperative effort with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, local medical examiners, coroners, veterans’ advocates and veterans’ organizations. Through the Homeless Veterans Burial Program, homeless and indigent veterans who have no family to claim them are identified and provided with a proper military burial.

We also participate in the Dignity Memorial^® Public Servants Program that recognizes the courage and selflessness of those who serve. This program offers dignified and honorable tributes, at no cost, for career and volunteer law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency services personnel who fall in the line of duty.

A.H. Peters Funeral Home was founded by Arthur and Alma Peters in 1917. Currently operated by their grandson David Peters, our two Detroit-area funeral home locations are honored to continue the established traditions of our founders, providing unparalleled, personalized support, attention to detail, care and comfort to the families we serve.

Since 2003, A.H. Peters Funeral Home has received the annual Pursuit of Excellence award by the National Funeral Directors Association.
