History

Located in Pierre Part, Ourso Funeral home has hosted cremation services for families in Assumption Parish and other Louisiana communities for more than 70 years. We are proud of the long-lasting relationships we create with each family we serve.

Establishment and growth

In 1939, Ourso Funeral Home was founded by Sidney Ourso Sr. in Donaldsonville, Louisiana, as a partnership with Milburn Landry. At that time, it was known as Landry-Ourso Funeral Home. After the death of Landry, the partnership dissolved, and our funeral home became Ourso Funeral Home Inc. The existing funeral home at 134 Houmas Street in Donaldsonville was purchased in late 1940.

Ourso Funeral Home services later expanded with the addition of the Gonzales location, as well as chapels in White Castle and Pierre Part. We remain dedicated to quality service and growing to meet the needs of families in Louisiana.
