With a red brick entry, paved driveways and old oak trees heavy with Spanish moss, Edgewood is as scenic and well-kept as it is peaceful. Bringing together the old and the new, the cemetery accommodates a range of burial options, including in-ground burial with a flat or upright marker and above-ground entombment in our modern mausoleum complex.

At Edgewood Cemetery, we are committed to the care and continued beautification of our property. We are also committed to offering affordable options for those who wish to take care of cemetery needs in advance, relieving their families of the emotional and financial burdens of planning a burial.

Our long history in Jacksonville

One of the older, larger and more picturesque cemeteries in Northeast Florida, Edgewood Cemetery was founded in 1865 as a family cemetery. Over time, the family who owned it invited friends and neighbors to use the cemetery, and Edgewood became the final resting place for many Jacksonville residents.

In the 1970s, the cemetery was sold to a private individual as a for-profit cemetery. In the 1990s, Edgewood Cemetery joined the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
