History

David L. Merritt opened Merritt Funeral Home in Brooksville in 1982, after working in funeral service for a dozen years. It occupies a building on South Lemon Avenue that was originally built as a funeral home by the Garnett family, who also made it their residence. Garnett Funeral Home was the first funeral home in Brooksville; it closed in the 1960s after the passing of Gracie Garnett. En savoir plusVoir moins

The Merritt family worked hard to earn the trust of the community and build a reputation of service excellence. After 15 years of caring for families in the Spring Hill area, the family expanded to a second location. In 1998, Merritt Funeral Home – Spring Hill Chapel opened on Mariner Boulevard.
