Nancy Jean Short

Nancy Jean Short, age 90, of Angola, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Auburn Village, Auburn, Indiana. She was born on October 21, 1933 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Lawrence Ross Wilson and Virginia Maxine Orr Perry. Nancy graduated from Fort Wayne Southside High School in 1951. She married Harold Eugene Short on November 21, 1951 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2019. Nancy was a longtime phone operator for Indiana Bell Telephone Company and later worked for Magnavox and Summit City Bank. She loved live music, fall foliage and traveling. She and Harold were members of the Escapee RV Club. They wintered in Mission, Texas and spent the summers at Barton Lake. Survivors include grand-daughters, Sarah Ezzelle, and Mindy (Todd) Harrold, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a great-grandson, Miles Harrold of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Indiana, brothers, James Orr Wilson of Sarasota, Florida, and David Lawrence Wilson of Mission, Texas, and a sister-in-law, Debra (Gordon) Baney of Quincy, Michigan. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, JoAnn Fiedler in 2011, and a son, Michael E. Short in 1994. There will be no services at this time. A Small Memorial will be announced at a later time. Burial will be at a later time at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, Indiana.
