History

Decades of family tradition

In 1930, Howard and Lucille Beams moved to the Fremont, Indiana, community and started Beams Funeral Home. They were also partners in the local furniture store business.

Years later, their son Howard G. Beams became a funeral director after attending Fremont High School, Purdue University and graduating from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He began his career in the family business and over the years, he and his wife Glenna successfully assumed ownership of the funeral home.

Today, Beams Funeral Home sits in downtown Fremont, as a reminder of the tradition set many years ago. Now part of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers, we remain dedicated to serving families and their loved ones with care, compassion and attention to detail.
