Beams Funeral Home
Kenton Jay Getz, age 65, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
He was born August 24, 1959 in Sturgis, Michigan.
Kenton served as an substation electrician for NIPSCO for many years.
Since 1993, Kenton was an Indiana Freemasons Brother at the Angola Masonic Lodge NO 236.
Growing up, Kenton started his life as a dairy farmer in LaGrange County. Every morning to jump start the day, Grandma Stahl would feed the boys a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread. Kenton had such a legendary voice along with several members of his family. At such a young age, he was offered a record deal- but declined as it was not the lifestyle he wanted to pursue. Throughout his adult years he left as most would call it a "Legendary" imprint on many lives. He was truly one of a kind and a simple man at heart. As he would say he was "The goofiest man" you'd ever meet, which was nothing shy of the truth.
Survivors include his daughters, Kymber Lauritzen and Macklin (Austin) Davenport, both of Angola, Indiana, brothers, John Getz of LaGrange, Indiana and Daniel (Donna) Getz of Ava, Missouri, a niece, Jane (Luke)Tremblin of Highworth, UK, and a nephew, Byron (Abby) Getz of LaGrange, Indiana, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darrel Getz, mother, Mary Ellen (Stahl) Getz Miller, grandmother, Mary Catherine Stahl, and recently a cousin, Bernie Parrish.
We love you forever and always Sparky!
Following his Kenton’s wishes there will be no services at this time.
Memorial donations in Kenton's memory may be directed to the Angola Masonic Lodge # 236, in care of Jay Minnick 1006 Bluffview Drive, Angola, Indiana 46703.
