David Wayne "Doc" Stewart, age 73, of Fremont, Indiana, passed away on Father's Day, Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Northern Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Angola, Indiana. He was born on November 19, 1950 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Wayne and Gladys (Martin) Stewart. David graduated from Northwestern High School, Kokomo, Indiana in 1969. He graduated from Tri-State College, Angola, Indiana, in 1973, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, and was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Following college he worked as a Process Engineer, and later as a Senior Industrial Engineer, retiring after 43 years with Tenneco (Clevite), Angola, Indiana in 2017. David was a member of the National Honor Society, Angola Masonic Lodge # 236 F & AM, Mizpah Shrine Car Club of Fort Wayne, parading in his 1971 red Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, and the Scottish Rite Club. He also was a former member of the Pokagon Shrine Club, parading as a Pokagon Indian, and was Notre Dame Stadium Usher, Gate E Captain, for Notre Dame University Football. David loved riding his 1999 Harley Davidson Night Train Motorcycle, with his wife, Raedene. Survivors include his wife and partner of 13 years, Raedene (Mailahn) Stewart of Fremont, Indiana, daughter, Shawna (Derek) Traster, and baby Mara, son, Seth Stewart, and daughter, Adalyn, and son, Matthew (Amy) Stewart, bonus daughters, Shannel (Scott) Nusbaum, Shannon (Tyler) Brudi, Stacie (Tricia) Lancaster, and Stephanie (Matt) Kline, stepchildren, Marni Newell, Jarad (Jenn) Newell, and Nathan (Adele) Newell, and numerous wonderful grandchildren. Also his fur babies, Axl, Brick, Yoshi, and Frankie Kitty. He was also preceded by his late wife, Marsha (Crone) Stewart, and good friends, George and Judy Underwood. Visitation will be held from 12 pm until 3 pm Sunday, June 30, 2024 at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, Indiana. Burial will be at Camden Cemetery, Camden, Michigan at a later time. Memorial donations in David's memory may be directed to the Shriners Children's Hospital, Chicago, Illinois or Dayton, Ohio.
