Lana Kay Bookmiller, 66 passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022. She was born July 31, 1955 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Lana worked at the Ossian deli for over 31 years. She was a member of American Legion Post #241. Lana enjoyed gardening, playing euchre and computer games, and most of all spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Ric Bookmiller; children, Jeremy (Anitra) Schreier, Leslie (Jeremy) Overmier, Angie (Adam) Haler, and Dustin (Megan) Bookmiller; grandchildren, Autumn, Cayden, and Abbey Schreier, Logan, Andrew and Cameron Haler, Shanda, Madalyn and Darren Bookmiller; one great- grandchild on the way; mother, Doris (Berg) Brager; siblings, Tom (Janet) Brager, Ron (Diane) Brager, Jenny (Mike) Matasci, Dale (Jane) Brager, Betty Lou Prather, and Kenny (Ada) Brager; and sister-in-law, Linda Brager. She was preceded in death by her father, Edmund Brager; and brother, Ed Brager. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Funeral Home 120 West Mill Street, Ossian, Indiana 46777 with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the funeral home. Contributions in Lana's memory may be made to Fort Wayne Medical Oncology and Hematology or ASPCA.
