James Houston Bodkins

James “Bill” Houston Bodkins, 98, passed away at Sentara RMH on Sunday, October 14, 2018. He was the son of Jacob and Florrie Bodkins of Ottobine. On October 16, 1948, Bill married Dorothy “Dot” Bodkins, who preceded him in death earlier this year. Surviving are a daughter, Susan Shifflett and husband, Ray, of Penn Laird; a son, Ronald Bodkins and wife, Linda, of McGaheysville; a grandson, Christopher Bodkins and wife, Layton, of Denver, CO; and a granddaughter Kathryn Bodkins of Harrisonburg; siblings, Charles Bodkins and wife, Faye, Jo Ellen Dickenson, and Mary Lee Armentrout. Bill served in WWII as a Technician Fifth Grade, 619th Engineer Base Equipment Company. Arrangements are being handled by Lindsey Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
