Chris Michael Simmons

Chris Michael Simmons, 61, a resident of Harrisonburg, passed away on January 14, 2016 at his home. He was born in Washington on May 20, 1954 and is the son of Donald R. and Hildegunde Faulkner Simmons of Harrisonburg. Chris graduated from Baumholder American High School in West Germany and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from West Virginia University. He was the Sports Editor for the Daily News Record for over 31 years. In addition to his parents he is survived by a brother, Donald C.E. Simmons and wife, Elizabeth A. of Harrisonburg; a niece, Jennifer S. Kaleba of Maryland; two great-nieces, Elsie and Islay Kaleba. Honoring his wishes, Chris, will be cremated and a memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Park View Mennonite Church with Rev. Owen Burkholder officiating.
