Patricia Ann Mauld

On December 31, 2012, Patricia Ann Meeker Mauld departed this life and went to her heavenly reward. She was born on August 22, 1927 in Leavenworth, Kansas to George Cassidy Meeker and Helen Glenn Meeker.
In 1947, Pat met and fell in love with Cecil "Tubby" Mauld. After three years of "talking him into it" Pat and Tubby were wed on June 13, 1950 and began a journey that spanned more than 60 years. Pat was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In addition to being Tubby's wife, and raising four children, Pat was employed in Civil Service at Langley Air Force Base for more than 28 years, retiring in 1994 from the Tactical Air Command, Command Flight Surgeon's office. After retiring, Pat volunteered her services for several years at Sentara CarePlex Hospital, providing information to families of patients who were undergoing surgical procedures.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband "Tubby" and his twin brother "Jink", her sister and brother, and grandson, Adam Linhart. She is survived by her children, Pam Strahorn-Roe and Paul, Cindy Linhart and Delmas, Patrick Mauld and Cindy, and Lisa Mauld and David Farmer, Jr.; grandchildren, Julie Reed, Bryce Strahorn and Natalie, Travis Strahorn, Jordan Mauld, and Jake Mauld; great-grandson, Tyler Linhart-Reed; lifelong friend Hazel Burtner; and special caregiver Brenda Jones.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Friday, January 4, 2013 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Pat's life will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Peninsula SPCA, 523 J. Clyde Morris Boulevard, Newport News, 23601; or to CHKD, PO Box 2156, Norfolk, VA 23501; or to a charity of your choice.
