Obituary of Henry Clay Fullen
Henry "Jack" Clay Fullen 89, of Hampton, passed away on July 23, 2024 after a short but hard fought battle at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia. Jack was preceded in death by the true love of his life Carolyn "Nip" Joan Fullen of Hampton, his parents, Warnie and Nannie Fullen of Saltville; brothers, Arthur Fullen, L.B. Fullen, Bill Fullen, Allen Fullen, Roy Fullen, and Charles Fullen; sisters Stella Surber, Sadie Joannou, Betty Sue Fullen, and Jewel Dean Fullen. Jack is survived by his daughter, Sandra Fullen Quesenberry (William) of Warrenton; son, Jeffrey Clay Fullen (Jaime) of Gloucester; sisters, Agnes "Gert" King (Jim) of Chilhowie, Peggy "Peg" Montgomery of Saltville and grandchildren, Brooke Fullen, Danielle Quesenberry, Branden Fullen, Sean Heidzig, Ethan Heidzig, and also nephew Alan "Joe" Grant (Leslie and Matthew) who was like a son, as well as the numerous nephews and nieces who truly meant the world to him. Jack was a former United States Navy sailor aboard the U.S.S. Ranger CVA-61 where he received a Good Conduct Medal and Honorable Discharge after completing his service to our country. Jack worked at Olin-Mathieson Corporation in Saltville, VA, where he met and later married Carolyn "Nip" Fullen before their relocation to Newport News in 1969, taking a position with the Newport News Shipbuilding where he retired out as a Master Shipbuilder / Welding Foreman. Jack enjoyed fishing, bluegrass music, and watching FOX News. As we bid farewell to Jack, we do so with heavy hearts but also with the assurance that he is now in the presence of our Heavenly Father. We take solace in knowing that we will be reunited in God's eternal kingdom, where there is no more pain or sorrow. We cherish the time we had with you, and we celebrate the life you lived, the guidance and assistance you gave to all whose paths you crossed during your time on Earth, and we hold onto the faith that guides us until we meet again... Requiescat in Pace Private services for the family will be held at a later date. Friends are encouraged to visit www.parklawn-woodfh.com to share memories and words of condolence with the family.
