Bill was a longtime Yuma Valley farmer, born in Yuma on June 27, 1926 to Hubert and Florence Thacker. Bill passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012.
Bill graduated from Yuma High School in 1944 and served in the US Navy 1944-46. He married Betty Nelson in 1952, his wife for 50 years. Bill began farming at an early age on his family's farm, served on the boards of Crane School District for 14 consecutive years, Yuma County Water Users Association and Yuco Gin.
Bill is survived by his son, Gary (Linda) Thacker; daughters Teresa (Steve) Speight and Audrey (Elias) Kotzambasis; five grandchildren and his wife, Mabel.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Betty Nelson Thacker.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, December 30th at Johnson's Mortuary
