Phyllis Swanson aged 81, died at her home. She was born in Winthrop, MA, June 11, 1940 and was the daughter of Doris and Arthur S. Kirk.
Phyllis leaves her two sons, David Swanson of Phoenix and Paul Swanson of Yuma. She also leaves behind a granddaughter, Katelyn Marie Swanson of Phoenix.
Phyllis and her family moved to Yuma in 1980 from Lebanon, CT. Mrs. Swanson helped to organize and was the first Executive Director of Hospice of Yuma and served in that capacity for 17 years. She later was employed as the Health Administrator of the AZ State Prison in Yuma, from which she retired.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Richard, her eldest son, Karl, and her parents.
Services will be held on December 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1550 S. 14th Ave Yuma, AZ 85364 and she will be at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Storrs, CT.
