

Miguel Alonzo Murrietta, age 69, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, Arizona. He was born Friday, May 8, 1942 in Yuma, Arizona. He was a carpenter and maintenance man for over 30 years with Arizona Western College. He enjoyed hunting for all seasons and fishing in the Yuma area.
Miguel is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Murrietta; sons, Michael (Briana) and Rudy Murrietta; daughters, Jessie Murrietta and Diana Neblina; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers, Abie (Noreen) Paz, Gilbert (Irene) Murrietta and Carlos (Mary) Murrietta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Emma Salazar, Beatriz Hernandez and Rosemary Moreno.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Johnson Mortuary Chapel between 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 17, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in the Garden of Serenity. Pallbearers will be Michael Murrietta, Rudy Murrietta, Joe Ronquillo, Gilbert Murrietta, Carlos Murrietta, and Efrain Rodriguez. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Mario Piñeda, Raymond Miranda and Johnny Sosa.
Arrangements under the direction of Johnson Mortuary & Desert Lawn Memorial Park, 1415 S. First Avenue, Yuma, Arizona.
