Michael was born October 20, 1962, in Brawley, CA. He participated in 4H and FFA during his youth and graduated from Yuma High School. He was a supporter of various organizations, 4H, FFA, Yuma Historical Society, American Legion and many others.
Following in the footsteps of his uncle and father, Michael continued the legacy of Harvey Farms located in the Gila Valley. Always accompanied by one of his trusted dogs, he enjoyed visiting with his friends and neighbors and would drive from one end of the valley to the other end frequenting many of the local restaurants.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold "Jim" Harvey and Catherine Harvey.
He is survived by his sister, Stephanie (Clayton) and his daughter, Tessa Shaw of Indiana.
