Mary N. Nixon, 83, passed away in Mesa on April 4, 2012. Her family moved to Yuma in 1964. Mary belonged to the Association for Retarded Citizens, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Assistance League of Yuma.
She was a care giver in the nursery of Southern Baptist Church for many years and was a member of Immanuel Southern Baptist Church.
She received an A.A. in Child Services from Arizona Western College.
Mary is survived by her sister, Ruby Jean Lee; uncle, Eston Kamrath; children, Beth Blixt, Willie "Eddie" Nixon, Tricia Roth, Carletta Turner Ooton, and John Turner; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husbands Willie "Bill" Nixon and Carl Turner and her daughter, Billye Nixon.
Visitation will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Friday, April 13th and funeral services will be held there on Saturday April 14th at 10:00 am with Pastor Charles Tyson. Burial will be private at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation School Bell (Yuma Assistance League) or Immanuel Southern Baptist Church.
