Martha Davis Stokes

Martha Davis Stokes (Skimo) was born to proud parents Lucy and Jay Davis on August 28th, 1949 in Gadsden, Arizona. Martha passionately worked as a Registered Nurse in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Martha was a strong believer in education. “There are no sick days”, was her motto. She never met a stranger. She loved everyone and everyone was her “Suga Pie”. She is proceeded in death by her first born daughter, Ofelia Stokes, as well as all of her siblings; Richard, Edward, David, Betty, Ruth and Millie Davis. Martha leaves to deeply cherish her fond memories her 3 children, James Jr., Janie and Miriam Stokes, her 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, as well as a Tribe of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was the 5th child and respectfully the last of the Davis family. She lived to become a Cocopah Tribal Elder at 71 years old. Her time on this earth was beautifully spent doing the work of Jesus Christ by spreading love then, now and forever. Until the last Amen.
