Maria Teresa Barron Islas was born October 5, 1948, in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico to Maria Guadalupe Miramontes and Primitivo Barron. She had one sister who was three years her elder. She was only three (3) years old when her mother moved them from Tepic, Nayarit to Mexicali B.C., where she attended school until her teenage years.
She was married young in 1962 and thus began her life as a mother. Her first marriage blessed her with six (6) children. She is survived by Ma Teresa Barriga, Norma Fonseca, Patricia Nungaray, Ruben Nungaray, Cesar Nungaray and Carlos Nungaray. Her greatest joy was being a mother, but she also enjoyed traveling, fitness, nutrition, oil painting and flying airplanes. She was a hard-working business enthusiast who took risks launching and operating businesses in Calexico, California during the late seventies and early eighties. She was loved and admired by all her family and friends for her courage and dedication. In 1986 sadly her first marriage ended in divorce but by 1988 she fell in love again and was married. Her marriage brought forth her seventh blessing, Victoria Islas. She remained married until 2017 when her husband abruptly passed away.
Although our mother was proud of all her triumphs in life it was her seven children who brought her true joy and love. “My greatest gift from GOD was my family.” Mother is survived by 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews survived by her sister.
