He was a lifetime Arizona resident born in Miami, Arizona, He graduated from Globe High School, in 1936. He lived in Aztec, Arizona for 30 years.
Herb went into the U.S. Army in 1942. He was discharged in 1945.
He met his first wife George-Anna and they were married in 1943 in Los Angeles; where Larry and Judy were born.
In 1955 the family moved to Yuma where he remained for the rest of his life.
After a divorce from George-Anna he married Jeri Bartholomew they owned J&B Auto.
Herbert was active in several groups during his life. A member of American Legion Post 19 since 1955, Commander in 1963, 58 year member Elks, Exalted Ruler 1973.
Herbert was preceded in death by his wife Jeri; sisters Genevieve and Alanna.
He leaves behind son Larry (Ruby), daughter, Judy (Rick). Step sons Roger and Robert Bartholomew. Sister Terryll Vitto. 5 grandchildren. 11 Great grandchildren. 3 great-great grandchildren. 4 nephews and 1 niece.
