Born November 19, 1928 Passed January 27, 2022
Beloved husband, father and grandfather Frank Reyna Robles, known to many as “Papa”, passed peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of January 27, 2022. Born on November 19, 1928 in Parker, Arizona to Miguel and Frances Robles, Frank enjoyed 93 years of cherished life surrounded by family, friends, and his faith community.
Frank started his life journey at a young age working at Forepaugh Cattle Company in Parker, Arizona as a farm hand. On October 15, 1950, Frank enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Texas as a medical field trainee.
He accepted the Lord as a young man and while attending a church convention he was introduced to the love of his life, Estella Banda, whom he married on January 24, 1954. They welcomed their son, Frank Jr. and 3 ½ years later, welcomed their daughter, Debra. Frank and Stella found a home in Yuma, Arizona in 1961 after Frank’s transfer working for the Bureau of Reclamation. He worked for the Bureau for over 35 years, retiring in 1989.
Unable to be idle, Frank took a job as a school bus driver, where he also taught others the skill of driving a bus. He found his calling in driving the Special Education students to and from school for many years. His strong faith and the simple pleasures in life, such as his garden and household projects, brought great joy to Frank in his long life.
Frank was an active member of the Apostolic Church where he held several official positions in various divisions. He faithfully attended church up until the Sunday before his passing.
Frank was preceded in death by his wife Stella (“Mama Stella”) and is survived by their two children, Frank (Karen), Debra (Robert), grandchildren Todd (Jackie), Rhett (Marie) and five great grandchildren, Cruz, Fox, Jayden, Lily and Ava Robles. He is also survived by three sisters, one brother and several nieces and nephews.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared for the Robles family.
