Elias E. Munoz, 95. Born in Tyrone, New Mexico on June 14, 1920. Elias previously worked at Pete Pasquinelli Company in Yuma, AZ. Drafted from 1942-1945 to U.S. Army where he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, and Good Conduct Medal, among others. 39 year member of the American Legion. Attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Somerton, AZ. He enjoyed dancing in his earlier years, and was a sharp dresser. He loved his family, children and good friends. He enjoyed going to the movie theater watching action movies.
Elias was preceded in death by his wife Delfina R. Munoz, sisters Lupe Paz, Antonia Reyes, Vasillisa Felix, Jenny Ornelas, Tina De Santiago and Carlota DeLa Rose, brothers Roman Munoz and Victor Munoz, and granddaughter Grace Delfina M. Ortiz. He is survived by sons Carlos R. Munoz, Joe Elias R. Munoz Jr., and Tommy R. Munoz. Daughters Dolores M. Ortiz, Delia M. Ayala, Mary Ann M. Washington, brother Louis Munoz. Including his 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
A wake will be held at Johnson Mortuary on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015 from 5pm-9pm. Funeral Mass will be on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 at 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Somerton, AZ. Interment will follow in the Garden of St. Joseph at Desert Lawn Memorial Park in Yuma. Pallbearers: Carlos R. Munoz, Tommy R. Munoz, Philip Munoz, Percy Washington, Thomas Ayala, Adrian M. Ortiz. Honorary Pallbearers: Joe Elias Munoz Jr. Isaac Elias Munoz.
