Carmen Munoz was born on April 8th, 1923, in Corona California. She passed away on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023. She passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones in Yuma, Arizona at the age of 100 years old. Preceding her in death, husband Eugene J. Munoz, her daughter Lydia, and son-in-law Chuqui Ramirez. Carmen is survived by her daughter Yolanda J. Munoz, and three grandchildren Becky (Jesse) Aguilar, Ron (Juanita) Ramirez, and Marc Ramirez. Four great-grandchildren Michael Flores, Ron Jr. (Alejandra) Ramirez, Jessica Ramirez, and Brooke Aguilar. One great, great-grandchild, Sofia Flores.
After being a homemaker for several years, Carmen joined the workforce and worked at Savon Drug Store, Da’Vell’s, and Edwards Jewelry store on Old Main Street for many years. After she retired, she became one of the four founding members of Iglesia Bautista Conservadora in 1972. She served as secretary/treasurer for forty years. Carmen enjoyed gardening, baking, and sewing. She loved hosting holidays at her home every year.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 31st, 2023, at 8:30 a.m. at Johnson’s Mortuary in Yuma Arizona. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Carmen’s life. Thank you to Pallbearers: Ron Ramirez, Marc Ramirez, Jesse Aguilar, Ron Ramirez Jr., Laroy Baldwin, Miguel Martinez Jr., and honorary Pallbearer Michael Flores for serving at Carmen’s funeral. The family would like to thank Compassus of Yuma, and a special thank you to Mariah Finfrock from Compassus of Yuma for her generous acts of compassion as she served Carmen in her final days.
