Michael Robert Curran passed away unexpectedly February 17, 2013, in Redlands, California. Mike was born December 27, 1944, in Seattle, Washington to Edna J. and John F. Curran. They moved to Southern California where he grew up, except for a short spell while his Dad worked in Illinois.
Mike is survived by his wife, Janet Curran; son, Brent Curran; sister, Victoria (Susie) Lukensow; brother, David Curran; many nieces, nephews, various inlaws, outlaws and many friends.
Mike spent his life exploring the southwestern deserts, drag racing, sand racing, off-road racing and just enjoying motor vehicles. He loved the mountains, deserts, beaches and warm tropical waters.
In 1964, Mike went to work as a Surveyor for the Pacific Electric Railway, which became the Southern Pacific Railroad, then Union Pacific, where he ended up as Manager of Construction. Mike retired in 1999 and later began working for Demo Unlimited as a private contractor doing the same type of railroad work.
Mike will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Arrangements were entrusted to Weaver Hughes Mortuary, Yucaipa, California.
