Kevin Yang Chen

Kevin Yang Chen was born in Solo, Indonesia September 23, 1942. Son of Tan Swie Hong and Kho Thiam Nio. He was the fourth of six children. He married Onnie Tjandra in Surabaya on February 9, 1969, and had four children, Rubin, Sifera, Olivia, and Raymond. He moved to USA in 1981 and started working at Ventura Estate as an LVN. In 1988 Kevin and Onnie got divorced and Kevin moved to Bakersfield, California. He married Elina Kawitana on January 18, 1989 and had one daughter, Jessica. After 19 years of marriage, Elina went to be with the Lord after many years of battling cancer. In 2020, Kevin remarried Onnie. Kevin is survived by his wife Onnie and 5 children, his 5 grandkids Alexandra, Nathan, Braden, Conner, and Kaylee, his older sister Melissa Chen, his younger brother Joseph Chendra, and younger sister Dyan Lee. Kevin had a wonderful time spending his last four weeks traveling in his home country of Indonesia with his loving wife Onnie. We are greatly saddened by the untimely death of Kevin on Saturday, June 17, 2023 in Calimesa at the age of 80.

A viewing for Kevin will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 8:00 AM at Weaver Hughes Chapel, 33629 Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa, CA 92399. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Conejo Mountain Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Rd, Camarillo, CA 93012. A reception will occur Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Thousand Oaks Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 480 W Gainsborough Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA 91360.
