Tom was born on November 17th, 1933, to William and Elsie Wonderly in Verona, Ohio. After graduating from Verona High School in 1951, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Japan and Korea.
After being honorably discharged from the USMC, Tom went to work as a toolmaker with NCR in Dayton, Ohio. He transitioned from that position into forms sales, and eventually opened his own business, Aztec Graphics, in Dayton in 1974. His brother Bill and good friend Belinda Young later joined him in the business.
In high school, Tom dated Wanda (“Kitty”) Hubler. Over 50 years later, the two found their way back to each other and married on December 10, 2005, in Phoenix, Arizona, adding Kitty’s sons and their families to Tom’s family circle. Tom loved spending time with family, enjoyed telling jokes (good, bad, and awful), was an avid Ohio State football fan, and a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, William and Elsie Wonderly, and by his three older brothers; Clyde, Don, and Bill. He is survived by his wife, Kitty; his children, Steve Wonderly and wife Betsy, Dawn Wonderly, Kim Dean and husband Andy, and Jeff Wonderly and wife Janelle.
He is also survived by Kitty’s sons Ron and Joey Benson and their families, whom he also loved and considered family. Family and step-family include 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Tom was known for his ready wit, his caring ways, and his hugs. He will be sorely missed.
No visitation or funeral service is planned.
