In Loving Memory of our dear sister Deloris Gore-Reid, we will certainly miss the presence of her radiance.
Deloris grew up in NYC as part of a Southern Baptist family. It was there that she showed her appreciation for knowledge by earning her PhD. in Education at City College. Being a pianist Deloris also was moved to share her gift of music with so many Baptist church organizations in the greater New York metropolitan area. It was in that region she and her late husband Rev. Martin Reid attended to a wide spread and diverse Christian ministry. Yes, Deloris was also a Christian Minister. Her service to her community and everyday people will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched. At this point it’s safe to say she’s in God’s hands now.
Deloris retired from her ministry in New York City all the way to Glendale Arizona in 2019 to find her place in the Sun. To be followed by her twin brother David all the way from Maryland in 2021. In their retirement David and Deloris were never far apart.
Deloris is preceded in death by her Mom and Dad Willie Ann Gore and John Pershing Gore, siblings Raymond Brown and Joseph Willie Brown. She was also preceded by her two beloved furry friends Gatitto her orange calico cat and Jacob the terrible her fearless Chihuahua. Now free of this most curious life.
Deloris is survived by her remaining brothers: Charles Atkins of Tucson AZ and her biological twin David Gore Sr. of Sun City AZ and John Pershing Gore Jr. of Goodyear AZ.
Our Deloris will surely be missed by all that knew her and the energy she brought into this lifetime.
In lieu of floral arrangements the Sage Hospice Organization has contracted with the Sierra Society to plant four trees in Deloris’s name. We would like to suggest doing something similar in Deloris’s name with the charity organization that’s close to your heart.
Please accept our Sincere Thanks.
