Born in New York City to Willis (Sandy) and Ruth Sanderson, where the family setting in Mesa, Arizona in 1960.
Bruce was in the Navy from September 1969 to December 1972, serving in Vietnam at the US Naval Air Station Cubi Point Detachment Tan Son Nhut, White Hat Airlines. Married to the late Deborah (Redinger) in December 1978. They had one son, Scott who is married to Nicola Richards. As a family, they enjoyed boating, camping, and traveling.
Bruce was employed at Honeywell for over 30 years as a machinist. Bruce remarried in June 2018 to Susan (Marsh) from Oak Lawn, Illinois. Among their favorite activities, Bruce and Sue enjoyed dancing, traveling, and long walks.
Growing up, Bruce was active in Boy Scouts, showing extraordinary leadership as a patrol leader and Webelos leader. Bruce was also tapped for the highly prestigious “Order of the Arrow” by the Boy Scouts. It is an honor that is bestowed on very few exceptional scouts.
After the Navy, he converted a school bus into a livable and mobile housing unit which was later used by this older brother Jerry for many years.
Bruce loved collecting precious metals and enjoyed keeping track of the stock market. He enjoyed working with his hands and taking one home improvement projects. As a rule, even as his health was declining, Bruce’s goal was to complete one task every day.
