Vincent Holland

Vincent A. Holland of Yonkers died on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at age 86. Born on February 16, 1926 to Timothy and Katherine (Buckley) Holland in Yonkers where he was raised and graduated from Gordon High School. Mr. Holland worked as a mechanic for Con Edison for over nineteen years; retiring in 1991. He married Louise Hurley in St. Mary’s Church; she died on May 26, 2012. Vincent was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a member of the North Yonkers Boys and Girls Club. He is survived by his six children; Vincent of Wappingers Falls, Linda (Stanley) Klamka, Dorothy Suchy, Margaret Kivel, Virginia (Mark) Brotko and Kelly (Ming) Lau. He was the last of ten brothers and sisters. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; Tara, Stanley, Lisa, William, Jennifer, Christopher, Craig, Timothy, Raymond, Lauren, Matthew and Kristen and eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church on Friday, July 27th at 9:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery.
