He was born on July 18, 1930 to Angelo and Anna Liguori DeCrescenzo in the Bronx where he was raised and educated. Mr. DeCrescenzo was a self-employed mechanic in the Bronx for many years until his retirement in 1993. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army as a sergeant from 1951 to 1953 and was stationed in Germany. Mr. DeCrescenzo was a parishioner of Holy Spirit Church in Crompond and previously of Santa Maria’s Church in the Bronx. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and he enjoyed bowling and fishing. On September 29, 1956, he married his loving and longtime wife, Lucille Mignanelli in St. Helena’s Church in the Bronx. Mrs. DeCrescenzo survives and lives in Crompond. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Laura Morelli and her husband John of Crompond, Deborah DeCrescenzo and her partner Deborah Smith of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and Barbara Taglialatella and her husband Vincent of the Bronx. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Alicia, Jessica and Erika and a great grandson, Gregory Vincent. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Louise and Irene. Visiting hours will be at Yorktown Funeral Home, 945 E. Main Street, Shrub Oak, NY 10588 on Thursday, May 2nd from 4 – 8 pm with a funeral service to take place at 7:30 pm. Final Disposition will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
