Robert Sean Romney, also fondly known as Lucky, was born on April 20, 1997 in Georgetown, Guyana.
He was the last of two children to Sean Romney and Sharon Sutherland and the last of three children to Sharon Sutherland, but took pride in serving as a leader and provider for his family. His life ended far too soon on Tuesday May 30th, 2023 after a fatal motorcycle accident in his home state of New York.
Robert migrated from Guyana to the United States in 2010; he began his U.S. education at I.S.
68 Intermediate School in Brooklyn before moving to Mount Vernon where he spent most of
his teenage and adult life. While attending Mount Vernon High School, he was an esteemed
member of the Track and Field team. Professionally, Robert worked in several fields such as Security Services, Insurance Services and Landscaping.
Robert stood out as consistently courteous and respectful, always helpful and dependable, and
could always win over his siblings and cousins with a winsome smile. He had a ferocious love
for life and approached each day with an inspiring optimism. While he’s left behind several
broken hearts, he’s also inspired many to make the most of every day they’re given.
