Richard A. Thoma of Yonkers died on March 17, 2012 at St. Cabrini Nursing Home in Dobbs Ferry at age 92. He was born in Dorchester, Mass. on May 1, 1919 to Alexander and Genevieve Kelly Thoma. Richard worked as a Lawyer and had his own firm in Bronxville. He was a member of the Yonkers Rotary Club where he received the Paul Harris Award, also a member of the Yonkers and Westchester Bar Association. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Howley, his five children Lynn (John) Roche, Richard (Kathy) Thoma, Jean (Peter) Diamond, John (Patricia) Thoma, Robert (Susan) Thoma and his step-daughter Dawn (Jon) Schwartz, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Madeline and his step-son Kevin Donnolly, one brother and one sister. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday March 21, 2012 from 4-8pm at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Sacred Heart Church on Thursday at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church 110 Shonnard Place, Yonkers, NY 10703.
