Peter J. Dronzek of Yonkers died on Saturday June 14, 2014 at age 79. Born on May 12, 1935 to Peter and Josephine (Mynarski) Dronzek in Yonkers where he was raised and attended St. Casimir’s Grade School, Saunders High School and Manhattan Community College. Mr. Dronzek was a printing teacher at Saunders Trades and Technical High School for over 25 years retiring in 1990. On June 20, 1959, he married Grace Smatko in St. Joseph’s Church; she survives. Peter was a parishioner of Christ the King Church, former member of the Colts Boys Club where he served as Baseball Director. While at Saunders, he coached girls basketball, softball and volleyball and in 1986-1987 he won the “Triple Crown” as city champs in all 3 sports. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed his time at “Evergreen Acres” in Cold Spring. Several of his prize fluke are immortalized on the “Willy Wall” in the Hamptons. Mr. Dronzek was a member of the Navy Reserves. Besides his wife Grace he is survived by his 4 sons, Peter J. (Elaine), David (Caryn) (YFD), Eric (Joan) (YFD), and Kenneth (Virginia) (YFD) Dronzek. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren, Amanda, David Jr., Ryan, Erica, Kevin, Jessica, Emma, Kenny Jr., and Krista, his 2 brothers, Paul and Joseph and his 3 sisters, Teresa Linkowski, Mary Ann O’Connor and Rosemary Dronzek. He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Agnes Pryzgoda, Josephine Popovic and Dorothy O’Buck. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday June 16th from 7-9pm and Tuesday June 17th. from 3-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday June 18th at 10am in Christ the King Church with interment to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
