Hard to believe it’s been so long since you’ve gone. What a time we had with HJ in the office. Such memories of CT, rest in peace.

Can't believe a year has passed, my friend. Happy Heavenly Christmas.  🙏 

Today I say goodbye to my friend Marie Galante, a friend of over 46 years. We met 46 years ago as RN's in Lawrence Hospital Critical Care. She had already been friends with Judi De Blasio and they had already formed their bond. Together the three of us formed a tighter Bond and became known as the Yaya's. We supported each other through good times, bad times, happy times ,Sad times,children, grandchildren all of life's milestones. We moved into different career paths but maintained our tight friendship. We attended concerts, Theatres, lunches dinners even taking the rail trail in Upstate New York to ride the Catskills. Marie was an avid traveler in her earlier days and saw Africa, Australia China and all parts of Europe. Our next adventure was to see Alaska I wanted to see the Northern Lights. The lesson learned is take advantage of what life gives you because you never know what tomorrow will bring. Marie wasn't Irish but she loved Irish sayings so I'll end it with this, may the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back and may God hold you in the palm of his hand. Marie is our Director for almost 10 years at NYP Hudson Valley Hospital.   She has been my mentor and close friend.    She is always available to talk to me professionally and personally.    I will miss her stories.  My children love talking to her.  She is kind, supportive, and down to earth.  Her family is the world to her.  I will miss you Marie.  I know you will be with Big Jim.  Thank you for being there for us and for me.  Your second family will miss you.


Marie had the most amazing memory. At work, during a staff meeting, someone would mention a word or phrase and Marie would start singing a popular tune with those words. I will alway picture her up above singing her heart out. ❤️

Marie and I worked at Stamford Hospital and then at Lawrence Hospital in NY. At Stamford we were both emerging to our future roles and shared many laughs together. At Lawrence, Marie was critical to the successful education and development of our nurses and as the HR leader, I was happy to bring her to LHC. While we parted ways to pursue our careers in different venues, I am always grateful for Marie and she will always be remembered. My sincerest condolences for your loss. 

Marie was my director at NY P Hudson Valley Hospital.  She was a very kind and supportive person.   I always got a kick out of how she could relate any situation to a song ( and she would sing that song, right out loud).   She was a good listener and a great mentor.  I am going to miss you, Marie!

I was a friend of Marie's at Gorton HS.  We were in the future nurses club together.  Marie was a beautiful human who followed her passion and built a career in nursing.  

Unfortunately, we lost communication with each other when I moved to California and only recently reconnected after our 50th HS reunion.  We had hoped to visit with each other on my next trip to NY.   I have only the fondest memories of our high school years together.

My deepest sympathy to Marie's family and friends.  We can all take comfort that she is with the angels in heaven!

Marie was my education director at Lawrence hospital!  She was the kindest person, a great director and educator and most of all a role model as a nurse!  You are already missed my friend, rest in the arms of the Lord and your family that went before you!  Watch over your nurses!

I first met Marie when i started working in the ICU at LH. We had such great times. Marie left and came back as director of education at LH where I started my career as an educator.Marie was  very successful  in all her endeavors

Marie was a thoughtful, smart, dedicated  kind woman who as a nurse who worked with me in Stamford Ct. As a Director she was loved by many for her great sense of humor and compassion for others.  Mostly she was a friend. May she Rest In Peace.

Shared our office and became good friends personally and professionally 
She was a great lady, smart, funny and always centered on what was important 
May she RIP she will be missed by many she touched throughout the years!

Marie was a caring wonderful person. When I first started my Nursing career Marie was there to help shape the way I practiced. Thank you Marie you were a great professional nurse and a dear friend. You will be missed.
