She was born on January 10, 1934 to Antonio and Custodio Pacheco in Portugal where she was raised and educated. She came to the United States at the age of nineteen. She was a parishioner of St. Agnes Church in Brooklyn and was a member of their senior citizen’s group. She loved watching soccer and was an avid fan. She also enjoyed traveling and taking cruises. On May 18, 1954, she married her loving husband, Manuel Vasquez in Portugal. Mr. Vasquez died on February 2, 1994. She is survived by two daughters, Diane Varvara and her husband Bart of Berkley Heights, NJ and Patricia Silva and her husband John of Ardsley, two sons, Manuel P. Vasquez and his wife Maureen of Arlington, VA and James Vasquez and his wife Nazarin of Montclair, NJ and one brother, Antonio Pacheco and his wife Rafeala of Providence, RI. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony’s Church on Tuesday April 9th at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
