Karen J. Lander

She was born in Westchester County, New York, Karen grew up with a passion for helping people. She pursued higher education at Pace University, where she earned her degree as a registered nurse (RN). She worked for Montrose VA Medical Center and also provided private health care to homebound patients. Throughout her life, Karen was known for her kindness and generosity. She touched the lives of everyone she met, and her presence will be deeply missed. Karen is predeceased by her parents Stanley J. Lander and Barbara A. Lander, her husband Robert Ward, and her favorite kitty Mr. Muffin.

Karen is survived by her sister Marilyn Lander, brother Mark Lander, sister-in-law Helena Lander, brother Steve Lander, sister-in-law Karen L. Lander, nephew James Lander, and niece Madeline Lander who will cherish her memory and continue to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, a cause close to Karen's heart. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home at 168 Park Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10703 to honor Karen's life and legacy. Rest in peace, Karen. Your memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved you.
