John Thomas Whooley , longtime Yonkers resident died on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at St. Johns Riverside Hospital. He was 77 years old. He was born on February 2, 1938 to Timothy and Brigette Gillespie Whooley in New Jersey. He was raised and attended Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers and graduated in 1956 . He Graduated from Fordham University in 1963 Golden Ram 2010 where he received a degree in Bachelor of Law. He was in the CHI RHO Fraternity. Mr. Whooley worked at Otis elevator company in Yonkers in the mid 60’s and Robbins Pharmacy. He was a self employed attorney for many years prior to his retirement. John was an avid reader of novels, books and History, he enjoyed Football, baseball and the Mets. His favorite T.V. show was Jeopardy. He is survived by his longtime companion, Rafael N. Vasquez of Yonkers and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Timothy who died in 2009 and his sister Ann Marie Tucker in 2010. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 4 – 8 pm with the funeral service to take place at 7 pm. Final disposition will be private.
