She was born on September 20, 1930 to Alex and Pearl Jones Bagley in Yonkers where she was raised and educated, graduating from Commerce High School. Mrs. Spivey was a manager at the Citibank in Scarsdale and previously for the branch in Yonkers. She was employed by Citibank for thirty years until her retirement in 1987. She enjoyed playing the piano and she was a choir director and member of her church choir. Mrs. Spivey was predeceased by her first husband, Houston M. Chambers. On June 10, 1964, she married her second husband, King Solomon Spivey in Messiah Baptist Church. Mr. Spivey died on December 17, 1987. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Chambers of Surprise, AZ and Houston R. Chambers of Yonkers, two daughters, Celeste Spivey of Yonkers and Charlene Spivey and a sister, Janie Salvatto of San Francisco, CA. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Scott A. Spivey in 2006 and Steven Spivey in 1991, four brothers and two sisters. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30-11:30am. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday December 14th at 11:30am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
