Jimmy, 91 was a lifelong resident of Yonkers, N.Y. He attended Benjamin Franklin Junior High and Yonkers High School. Jimmy served in the U.S. Army from 1946-1947 as a corporal. Jimmy worked for Rosner’s Hardware Store from high school for over fifty years. He later worked for Miele Auto Parts in Yonkers well into his 80’s. Jimmy would have continued working until he took his last breath if the demon of dementia hadn’t slowed him down. Jimmy was an avid reader, loved doing the daily jumble and could solve them within seconds. He enjoyed gardening and tending to his lawn. He loved the Yankees and Frank Sinatra. He was a strong man, a “Man’s Man”, one of the best! Jimmy was a proud and devoted man to his wife, children and grandchildren. Jimmy is survived by his loving and devoted wife Helen. They were married for sixty six years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Rhonda (Steven) Arezza, sons James (Jessica) Sessions and David (Jennifer) Sessions, as well as his grandchildren, Cali, David, Miki, Scott and Jade. Jimmy is also survived by his sisters Myra (Claudia) Zarcone, Carol Yaroschak and sisters-in-law Anne Cobelli and Mary Robinson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Myra McCarthy Sessions, his father, Clyde Sessions, a sister Joan and brother Clyde. Jimmy will be remembered for his strength, his quiet demeanor, his quick and witty “com-backs”, his ever-so-strong work-ethic, honesty, integrity and above all the love for his family. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Monday 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday April 23rd at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of Westchester, White Plains, N.Y.
