Ilham Salem Khoury

The handmaid of God, Ilham Salem Elias El-Farr, wife of Raied Issa Khoury was born on December 25th 1969 in Jordan. She is the mother of Alaa, Sarah, and Fatin. She is also survived by her mother Fahimeh Sahawneh and 8 sisters with families in Jordan and the United States: Seham, Nadia, Heyam, Reham, Dema, Ameera, Faten, Wafa. Before getting married and while in Jordan, Ilham received her education in Computer Science and was a school teacher in Mathematics. After migrating to the US, she finished her education in medical billing and was employed in a large oncology practice. Thirteen years ago she was diagnosed with cancer, and her strong will, faith, and determination helped her survive all these years. She will be greatly missed by her family, relatives, friends, and parishioners of Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Yonkers. May God rest her soul in peace and may her memory be eternal. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Condolences will be received on Sunday at the nearby Christ the Savior Melkite Church, 491 Palisade Ave., Yonkers from 4-7pm and 9-11pm. Funeral Service will be at Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, 236 Grandview Blvd., Yonkers on Monday January 12th at 10am. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mercy Meal will follow at our Virgin Mary Church Hall. The family will open their home for receiving condolences after the funeral at 50 Hillside Ave., Yonkers. “The Lord has given, and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the Name of the Lord.”
