Guerda Joseph, affectionately called "Dada" by family and close friends was born on July 13, 1950 in Port au Prince, Haiti. She was the third child of Lucie Joseph and Vincent Joseph. She was the devoted and proud mother of Guerline Reid, Garcendi Registre and Stephan Joseph. Dada is survived by four sisters, Junette Joseph, Violette Joseph, Elsie Joseph and Annette Joseph.
Dada came to the United States in 1982 with her three children and resided in Yonkers. She quickly realized that if she was going to make it in the U.S., it was going to take hard work and skill, so she decided to go to school and obtained a license in healthcare. Her decision to go into healthcare was very much aligned with her valuable qualities of kindness, patience and love for people. Dada gave her heart to the Lord in 1987.
Dada loved her children and her family. Her legacy of faith and love has been left with her children, Guerline, Garcendi and Stephan; her grandchildren, Terrique, Marland, Abigail, Giovanni, Armani and Vanise; her great granddaughter, Ovah, who she was overjoyed to see; and her sisters, Junette, Violette, Elsie, and Annette.
A visitation for Guerda will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harvest Army World Revival Church, 2435 White Plains Road, Bronx, NY 10467.
