Dorothy F. Morrison (nee Irwin) passed away on May 24th after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born to Delia (nee O'Driscoll) and William Irwin, natives of County Clare and County Mayo, Ireland, on August 24, 1935 in New York City. She attended St. Rose of Lima School in Washington Heights and Aquinas High School in The Bronx. She went on to become an accounting manager at Tape Media in NYC and eventually retired from Yonkers Public Schools. In August 1970, she married her childhood crush, John Morrison; he survives her. She is also survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Rita Morrison of Valley Cottage, NY. She is predeceased by her sister, Rita Gaughran; and her first husband, Robert Latimer. She is survived by her brother, William Irwin of Elmira, NY. She is also survived by hundreds of cousins, nieces, and nephews both in the United States and Ireland. Dorothy was a devout Catholic. She loved her family and friends, especially Dorothy Kehoe and Margaret (Maggie) Horne. All that crossed her path were near & dear to her heart. She supported charities that helped those in need, a cause carried on by her daughter. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday May 27th at 10am. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
