Diane G. Walsh (nee Dorman), a longtime Yonkers resident, died on Wednesday January 25, 2017 at her residence. She was 70 years old. She was born on March 3, 1946 to Kenneth and Gloria Taxter Dorman in Tarrytown where she was raised and educated, graduating from Sleepy Hollow High School in 1965. Mrs. Walsh was a camping secretary for the Boys Scouts of America, Westchester Putnam Council for 18 years until her retirement in May 2014. Previously, she was a manager in the mortgage department of the Bank of New York in Tarrytown for 16 years. She was most recently a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and previously a parishioner of Christ the King Church where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Boys Scouts of America, where she received numerous awards and which eventually led to her employment with the Boy Scouts. She was also the director of the Durland Cub Summer Camp. On February 2, 1980, she married her loving and faithful husband, John Walsh in Christ Episcopal Church in Tarrytown. Mr. Walsh survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jonathan Walsh and his wife Stephanie of Montgomery, N.Y. and Kenneth Walsh of Yonkers, a daughter Catherine Walsh and her fiancé William Rivera of White Plains and a brother, Donald Dorman of Kent, N.Y. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Benson, Wesley and Emery and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Dorman. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday 2-5 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church on Saturday January 28th at 9:30am Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 220 East 42nd St., New York, N.Y. 10017.
