Clara Chach, 82 years old, a resident of Yonkers died on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 in St. John’s Riverside Hospital suddenly. Born on May 1,1934 to Joseph and Josephine Lewan in Yonkers. Clara was employed by Anocanda Wire and Canteen Company of Ciba Geigy. She retired in 1993. She had a passion for music and loved playing her piano and organ. Her hobbies also included sewing, visiting Atlantic City and enjoying vacations in Virginia and Florida with her family. As a long time parishioner of Christ the King Church, she volunteered her time for fundraising events at the school. On April 26, 1958 she married her loving husband John in St. Nicholas of Myra Church. He predeceased her in 2004. She is survived by her three children, Geraldine Miller and her husband William of Yonkers, Gregory and his wife Carol of Mahopac and David of Bedford Hills. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Christopher Chach (Rebecca), Anthony Chach, Sharon and Stephen Miller, and a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Chach. She is also survived by her loving brother and sister, Bernard and Dorothy. Predeceased by a brother Leonard. The family expresses their thanks to the staff at St. John’s Riverside Hospital, Dr. A. Commentucci and medical staff for their years of care and support. Visiting hours will be at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Friday, February 10th from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial to be held at Christ the King Church on Saturday, February 11th at 10:00 a.m. Interment Oakland Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to St. John’s Riverside Hospital or Christ the King Church.
