Christopher Cortese

Christopher Cortese, 61, died on January 25, 2013 in Lawrence Hospital. Formerly of Yonkers now of New Fairfield CT. He was born on December 6, 1951 to Julius and Mary (Driscoll) Cortese in Yonkers where he was raised and educated graduating from Yonkers High School. Christopher was currently working as a freight handler at Home Depot where he was employed for over 12 years. On April 3, 1982 he married Karen Malara in New Rochelle, she survives. Christopher was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and also volunteered with an elderly couple driving them to stores. Besides his wife Karen he was survived by his father Julius, son Christian, daughter Danielle, sisters, Karen Mastrovito and Kim Cortese. Christopher was predeceased by his mother Mary. Visitation will be at Whalen and Ball Funeral Home on Monday January 28th. From 4pm to 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at Sacred Heart Church at 11am on Tuesday January 29th. With interment to follow at St. Josephs Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Jansen Hospice in Tuckahoe or the Cancer Surropt Team of Purchase, New York.
