She was born on June 7, 1928. She retired from Saks 5th Avenue. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Hughes who predeceased her. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Hughes, Janet (Mario Notaro), Bernice (Frank Sanzo) and her son Larry (Mary Joy Hughes). She is also survived by five granddaughters, Lisa Nero, Melissa (Frank Vesuvio), AnnMarie (Steven Becker), Amanda (Jon Paul Di Bernardino) and Fallon Hughes and six great grandchildren, Frankie, Kayla, Madison, Gabrielle, Isabella and Nicky. The family of Bernice Hughes will be holding visiting hours at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Friday 4-8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony’s RC Church on Saturday October 15th at 10:15am. Interment will follow at the Cemetery of the Gate of Heaven.
