Arline D. Hannigan (nee Dunford) wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died at her home in Schoharie County, NY on March 15, 2017 after a long and very courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Arline was born on October 11, 1935 in Yonkers, NY to Thomas Dunford and Edith Van Tassel Dunford. She attended Yonkers schools, graduating from Gorton High School and then attended the University of Vermont. In 1956, she married James J. Hannigan. After raising six children she returned to Elizabeth Seton College and graduated with her paralegal degree. She enjoyed a successful career in law, working for several law firms in Westchester County until her retirement. Arline is survived by her loving husband James and six children; Kathleen (John) Liszewski, Mary (Edward) Benes, Nancy (Michael) Miksad, Patricia (Dave) Alberts, James Hannigan and Ellen Hannigan. She also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous niece and nephews. She is predeceased by two sisters Joan Dunford and Virginia Greehan. Arline was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Saturday 7-9pm and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Christ the King Church on Monday March 20th at 10am. Interment will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
