It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Allan M. Cancio, a beloved father, husband, son, brother, grandfather, and friend. Allan passed away peacefully on July 20, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones.
Allan was born on March 20, 1948, in the Philippines, where he spent his early years before making a life-changing decision. In 1974, driven by a vision to create a better life for his family, Allan left the Philippines and journeyed to the United States (Yonkers, New York) to have a bright future. Allan worked as a mechanical engineer, a profession where he applied his skills and dedication to excel and provide for his family. In his early years in the USA, he worked and studied simultaneously, ensuring he could support his family back in the Philippines. His unwavering dedication to his family was evident when he worked tirelessly to bring his wife, Estela Cancio, to join him, despite the challenges of being apart from their children.
During this time, he and his beloved wife, Estela Cancio, endured years of sacrifice, separated from their children, as they built a new life. Despite these challenges, Allan remained an ideal husband and a good provider, always prioritizing his family's well-being.Through their combined efforts and sacrifices, Allan and Estela were able to reunite with their children—Zeighfred, Allan Rey, Ronclark, and Arlene—giving them the opportunity for a brighter future.
In addition to his immediate family, Allan extended his generosity and support to his siblings—Ted Cancio, Mel Cancio, Rico Cancio, Edgar Cancio, Efrin and Linda Cancio. His selflessness and commitment to his family's welfare were unparalleled.
Allan's dedication and hard work were unmatched. He tirelessly worked to ensure that his family had every opportunity to succeed and thrive. His sacrifices and unwavering commitment to his loved ones were evident in every aspect of his life.
As a loving son, Allan cherished his mother, Lucila Cancio, and his late father, Godofredo Cancio. He honored their memory with his actions and the values they instilled in him. Allan’s siblings—Ted, Mel, Rico, Edgar, Efrin, and Lunda—held him in deep regard, appreciating his kindness, generosity, and unwavering support.
As a father, Allan was a pillar of strength and guidance for his children. They remember him as a loving and supportive figure, always ready with wise advice and a comforting presence.
As a husband, he was a devoted partner to his beloved wife, Estela Cancio. Their bond of love and mutual respect was the foundation of their family.
Allan was also a cherished friend to many, known for his genuine kindness and willingness to help others. He touched the lives of many with his warm heart and selflessness. His legacy of love, resilience, and friendship will continue to inspire all who know him.
Allan leaves behind a family who will strive to honor his memory and live up to the example he set. Though his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved and those who loved him.

A mass of christian burial will occur Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart, 110 Shonnard Pl, Yonkers, NY 10703. An interment will occur Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Oakland Cemetery, 2 Saw Mill River Rd, Yonkers, NY 10701.
