Alice Dunn

Alice M. Dunn passed peacefully at her home, on November 5, 2016. She was born December 10, 1930, in Yonkers, NY, to James and Catherine (Powers) McCrudden. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School and High School. She was an executive secretary at Alexander Smith, Inc. She married her beloved husband, Edward T. Dunn on September 14, 1957, at Sacred Heart Church. He survives her. She was active in Christ the King parish, where she was Eucharistic Minister, member of the Rosary Altar Society, sewed for Rosary Hill Hospice, cooked for the Sharing Community, and volunteered in the school library. She attended daily mass at Sacred Heart and was a member of Fr. Solanus Casey Guild. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving children, Kyran (Patricia), Lawrence (Arlene), Catherine Dunn-Brosnan (Edmond), and Eileen (Charles McNelis). She is also survived by her twelve beloved grandchildren: Kathleen (Robert Bizzarro), Brian, Lauren Dunn, Samantha, Nicole, Melissa Dunn, Alicia, Conor, Timothy Brosnan, John, Daniel, and Thomas McNelis, as well as her adored great grandson Jack Bizzarro. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Lawrence McCrudden, and her sisters in law: Patricia, Jane, Lynn, Carol McCrudden, Betty Dunn, and Effie Tompkins. She was predeceased by her brothers James, Joseph, and John. Visiting hours will be at the Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 8th from to 2:00 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, November 9th at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. She had requested that no flowers be sent, but to give donations to Calvary Home Hospice or Sacred Heart Church.
